On Saturday July 28th 2018, Members of the Club took part in the annual Bexhill Carnival Parade, with a Flintstones themed float.

Over the past months, Lion Brian Mewett had demonstrated his skills both as a stonemason and carpenter by building a great float, ably assisted by apprentice Flintstones.

With wooden needle, skins and fur, Lion Sue Cassell created some amazing character costumes. A real highlight of the entry.

Lions President Clare Kersley decided to play it low key… not… Leading the float in her bright pink Dino costume.

The 14 characters were busy along the route with their collection buckets. All money raised by the procession street collection will go to the Carnival Charity Partners: Bexhill Samaritans, Entertainment Workshop, HRVAB and the 1st Sidley Brownies.

After the procession “The Flintstones” enjoyed some well-earned refreshment in the Football Club and celebrated their 2nd Prize in the Charity category.

A great day and an event which brings together the whole Club, doing what it does best…raising money for good causes and having FUN doing it. YABBA DABBA DOO!
