Saying Goodbye to Lockdown Locks?

Bexhill Lions Club is supporting the Little Princess Trust which provides free real hair wigs to children and young people, up to 24 years, experiencing the devastating effects of hair loss through cancer treatment or other conditions. They also fund pioneering, life-saving research into childhood cancers.

Hair loss can cause a great deal of worry and distress for children and teens facing cancer or other conditions.

The Lions want people who wish to say goodbye to lockdown locks to donate their hair. This needs to be in excellent condition and be a minimum of 7 inches long, 12 inches and above is preferable and 16 inches would be amazing! So what can you do?

Firstly, head to https://www.littleprincesses.org.uk/donate-hair to see what you need to do to prepare your hair. The site also gives detail on how to package the hair for posting. The Charity manufactures over 500 quality wigs a year which are fitted by a network of approved salons across the country.

Lion President Simon Edwards commented ” Today, paediatric cancer is a focus of Lions Clubs across the world. The charity arm of Lions Clubs International, the Lions Club International Foundation(LCIF) provides funding support and has developed strategic partnerships to help improve outcomes for children with cancer. Since July 2020, LCIF has awarded 21 childhood cancer-related grants totaling US$1,542,802 to improve the quality of life for children receiving treatment and their families.

If you want to lose your lockdown locks, sharing your hair with children and young people experiencing the devastating effects of hair loss can make a major difference to them and is a generous and really rewarding thing to do”.
