The local youth charity recently approached a number of organisations to provide funding for an emergency support program for young people during the Covid-19 lockdown period.
Bexhill Lions Club, which has supported the Trust for many years, was delighted to donate £350.
Lee Dunn, a trustee explained, “We have been inundated with online messages from young people who are becoming anxious during this time and also that many had started to suffer with increased mental health issues.”
The Trust decided to provide emergency Covid-19 activity packs. The contents vary based on people’s needs as their ages range from 6 to 26 years. Some packs contain fun activities to make over this difficult time and others packs offer a health and well being kit that works hand in hand with the charity’s online support program. In addition they are supplying weekly hot meal vouchers for those with HIV+ within their Pier2Pier Group.
