ANNUAL WORLD DIABETES DAY – 14th November

World Diabetes Day is on 14 November every year. It’s a day when millions of people around the world come together to raise awareness of diabetes.

Analysis has shown that hundreds of people living with diabetes, die prematurely every week in England and Wales, with many of these deaths being caused by avoidable complications. Around 850,000 people in the UK have Type 2 diabetes, but don’t know they have it, because they have not been diagnosed.

Lions UK is working with Diabetes UK to help raise awareness of this urgent public health issue. Our vision is to “Reduce the prevalence of diabetes and improve the quality of life for those diagnosed“.

What can YOU do?

  • Cook with olive oil instead of butter
