This years’ convention of the 51 clubs in the South East of England was held in Arundel. It started on the Friday evening with a “Red White and Blue” themed
fun evening and on Saturday, partners had the opportunity to enjoy a conducted tour of Chichester Cathedral, while Lion members attended the business of the day.
This included information stands, the AGM and presentations from organisations such as Kent Surrey Sussex Air Ambulance (KSSAA) and Lions International Blood Research Appeal, the official Haematology Charity for King’s College Hospital in London. The convention ended with a Gala Dinner and Dance in the evening.
During the day, Bexhill Lions Club received four awards, including International recognition for President Pam Edwards.

Club Excellence Award 2022-23
Immediate Past President Simon Edwards received this on behalf of the Club. It is a prestigious recognition given to clubs that excel in various areas and encourages excellence in the following categories: Increase in Membership, a focus on Community Service, Leadership and Organizational Excellence and proactive Marketing across various platforms.
The reward reflects the renewed energy, engagement and contribution that new members bring to the club. They bring new ideas to enhance and increase community activities. It also creates opportunities for members to take on new roles, from organising events, chairing committees or to becoming a Club Officer such as Treasurer, Club Secretary and President. Organisational excellence refers to the Club having the right processes and procedures in place such as; Safeguarding, Health & Safety, Risk Management and Volunteer policies.
Simon added” As last years’ President, It was a great honour to receive the award on behalf of the club. The Club Excellence Award is more than just an award; it is proof that our club is growing, is strong, focused and able to serve Bexhill in the best possible way and address the ever changing needs of our community”.
