Beetles driven by Rotary

Bexhill Rotary Club challenged the club to a friendly Beetle Drive evening as  a first step in working closer together. The evening, including a meal, proved to be a great way to get to know each other as we beetled along to the next tables. At the end of the evening Bexhill was presented with a winning trophy which will be competed for at future events. Watch this space for more news to come on our community collaborations.

Caring for our Community

The Club has made a donation of £1,000 to Bexhill Caring Community, which provides a wide range of vital services for; the elderly, those who are housebound and those feeling isolated. They have a dedicated team of volunteers including befrienders, a home library service, equipment aids, help with form filling and access to trusted self employed outworkers for tasks such as cleaning, gardening and odd jobs.

They also offer essential transport services including a community car service for medical appointments and a Dial-a Ride bus for trips to town.

LP Sue and VP Gary presented the cheque.

Calendar Girl

The Club offered their thanks to local photographer Margaret Hayes who donated all sales revenue from her 2026 “Beautiful Bexhill” calendar to the Club. The £1,021 raised has been donated to Brain Tumour Research. The Club also thanked Bexhill Museum and the De La Warr Pavilion for their support.  ” A lovely calendar for such a brilliant cause”.

“Veterans’ Easter Tea Party

The Club was invited to join the residents at Mais House, a RBL Care Home. A chance to mix and chat with an interesting group of ex service personnel and their families. One of whom was an 96 year old and an ex Lion.

DISC Party

DISC, Dementia Information & Support Courses is a CIC dedicated to supporting the unpaid carers of people living with Dementia in East Sussex. They recently celebrated their 8th anniversary which provided a great opportunity to catch up with all the carers they have supported over the years and reconnect with their unique journeys.

The Club has been a long term active supporter of the Bexhill Dementia Alliance and was delighted to offer help and support for this special event. The team were still smiling after the post party clean up!
