Last week the Trustees held an on-line virtual meeting to agree key points of action.
The major decision was to postpone all FUNdraising events planned for the foreseeable future. This included a new event, RunFest, which was being planned for this July and which is now planned for July 2021.
It was further agreed that committee meetings and the monthly Business meeting will be held on-line so that we can continue with the work we do.
The hampers for the Easter Lucky Draw have already been distributed to
Public Houses, Hairdressers, Golf Clubs and Restaurants. Where the outlets
have closed we are seeking to collect these and use them to raise funds in
alternate ways or donate to worthy causes.
There was significant interest from potential members and volunteers at the recent Jobs and Apprentice Fair. It had been planned to hold a meeting with them all and it is now hoped that a virtual on-line meeting can be held with them in the near future.
Lion President Andrea Etheridge added “We are still here to support the Community in any way we can whilst keeping our members safe. We continue to consider grant applications from organisations and individuals. These can be applied for on our website or by telephone 0345 833 9591. We are expecting more requests for funding in the coming weeks/months so please continue to support the work we do by donating via https://cafdonate.cafonline.org/10206
