Amelia Magni aged 12 from St Richard’s Catholic College has won the Lions’ International S.E. England Poster for Peace competition. The competition for young people aged 11-13 years, is open to all 59 Lions Clubs in the District.

Lion President Simon Edwards commented.” The competition was started in 1988 to give young people the opportunity to show their artistic ability and express their views, aspirations and hopes for peace.

Amelia’s winning entry is an inspiring, topical and moving visualisation of how a young person views the world in the midst of the pandemic, showing compassion and hope. It really does reflect the competition theme, Peace through Service.”

In addition to the prizes for winning the local round, Amelia will receive a gift card for £30 and her school will receive a cheque for £100.

Paul Fleming, Lions Youth committee added “This latest win continues the growing reputation of Bexhill for outstanding creative talent at both Senior and Junior schools level. We wish Amelia every success in her future artistic endeavors.”
