This year Bexhill Lions Club has teamed up with the the Bexhill 100 Motor Club, who will be providing their fantastic sleigh and a Santa.
Last Friday Santa greeted many families in front of the Sailing Club. He was escorted by a number of wonderfully illuminated and decorated cars from the Motor Club.
Lions were on hand with wrapped sweets for the children, collection buckets and contactless payment devices and to monitor queues. An added bonus was Andy Burton singing carols and getting the crowd in a festive mood. The Mayor, Cllr Lynn Langlands came along and joined in the festivities. All money raised will be used to help good causes and those in need”
Head of Fundraising Rob Jones said ” We wanted to ensure that children had the opportunity to meet Santa on his sleigh and for the public to enjoy some Christmas music and donate to our collection. Covid safeguards will be in place to ensure that current regulations are met. We will be in a number of fixed locations, rather than touring the streets. Santa and his sleigh will be at the following locations between 5.00pm and 7.00pm. We also hope Andy will be able to join us on a couple of the dates.”
