Over the past three months we have welcomed four new members into the Club. Their formal inductions were in a Covid-Safe environment or at the regular Business meeting, via zoom.
The Club attracts people with diverse backgrounds and this was reflected by the new members; a retired Primary School Manager, a former Care Home Groups’ Office Administrator, a College HR Manager and a Community Services coordinator.
Their reasons for joining include; “I love meeting and helping people”,
” I have seen how involved, and how hard Lions work to make a difference, particularly for the local community”, “I would like to do more, by being a Lion with this great group of people who have been most welcoming”.
Another commented, ” I became aware of Bexhill Lions when I was “flamingoed” for my birthday. I like the Lions’ commitment to service and community, while having fun”, ” I’m impressed with how active and supportive the club has been during 2020. I look forward to getting involved with such a friendly group of people.”
Membership Officer Pam Edwards commented, “We know that being active is important for your health and wellbeing, especially in the current situation. You can also impact the wellbeing of others by joining Bexhill Lions Club and become an Active Citizen. Volunteering connects you to others, brings fun and fulfillment to your life, can help with career prospects and brings positive benefits to the people and communities that you help.”
Lion President Simon Edwards added ” Throughout the Covid19 pandemic we continue to support those in need in our community wherever we can. The pandemic has brought many challenges to us all and there has never been a greater need for volunteers. I am therefore delighted to welcome our new members and look forward to working with them. Bexhill Lions Club is “open for business” and continues to seek new avenues for funding and ways in which we can help those in need. Why not come and join us”
