Bexhill Lions Club has provided a significant donation to the Willow Tree Children’s Support charity. It provides therapeutic group and individual support to children and young people aged 5 to 16 year old in Rural Rother impacted by family illness, bereavement and suicide. The funding will enable them to purchase a range of craft materials, memory jars, keepsake boxes and specialist books which will be used in the sessions.
Martha from Willow Tree said “We are so grateful to receive this kind donation from Bexhill Lions Club, which will allow us to purchase much needed quality materials and resources.
The children can explore their feelings around bereavement or family illness in a warm and supportive space in a school setting. They are able to plan their own sessions and choose resources that follow their interests, including clay modelling, painting, journalling, reading, sketching and creating. These new resources will help our children find a way to express their emotions during difficult times.
The donation will make such a huge difference to us, so many thanks again to everyone involved with Bexhill Lions.”
Sue Saunders, Community Service lead added “We are delighted to have been able to help Willow Tree, which provides experienced practitioners and much needed support to these young people during difficult times. They also provide information and advice for families and schools.”
