Sue Saunders takes over as President

The garden of Sue and Gary Saunders was the venue for the handover.

June Hough thanked all members for their hard work in another successful year before handing over the President’s Chain to Sue. June was presented with a bouquet of flowers as a thank you for her year in Office. Gary was then presented with the Vice President’s Chain of Office.

A great BBQ and games were enjoyed by everybody in what was a very sociable and fun afternoon.

Members “putt” on a good show

There was a great turnout for a fish and chips supper followed by crazy golf on the Pirate course in Hastings. Prizes for the overall winning team and “holes in one” champions were presented by organisers Margaret and Sue at the post- games drinks.

Zone successes

We had a good Club turnout at the Zone handover and enjoyed a BBQ cooking masterclass from Graham, excellent salads and desserts and a sunny afternoon. What more could we ask for!!

Well, winning the Zone Olympics and Travelling Lion trophies was the icing on the cake. A most enjoyable event, so thank you to Uckfield Club for organising it.

A Question? We had an answer

Though not always the right one!

We entered a number of teams in support of this Carnival week FUNdraiser at the local Weatherspoons’ pub. It was an evening of fun and laughter and raffle prize winning. The money raised going to the Carnival’s charities; Bexhill Men’s Shed and Pebsham Community Hub. Two well deserving organisations that do so much for the community.

Carnival Dog Show

A successful event run by the Club and one where we were joined by members of the Marine Training Corps – Sidley/Bexhill.

Organiser Rick Hough commented “The cadets were great; hard working, polite, well disciplined and keen to be involved. A great help on the day, so a big “Thank You” to all involved “.

We were “Out of this World”

Shy and retiring members, no way!!

We had a fabulous time preparing and taking part in the themed Carnival

procession.

Green aliens, Men in Black, a giant jelly fish and green faces and heads added to the fun and high spirits at what was a great community event with the largest number of participants for years. A huge effort by everybody involved and thanks to all who lined the streets and put money in the buckets.

A Member reflects

“Nights like this remind us that being a Lion is about more than just service and our community – it’s also about friendship and making memories together”.
