Children and families have been enjoying exploring woodland fairy trails, thanks to Bexhill Lions. They came up with the idea of a Green Fairy Trail to provide some magic and put across a green message as everyting on the trail is donated. Salvaged or recycled.
Event organiser, Lion Pam Edwards said “It really was a magical day with a lovely atmosphere. Along the trail the answers to the quizzes were all within the wood and the children were busy hunting these out. The craft table was busy with youngsters painting fairy doors and other items. A wide range of items were also available to purchase and these proved to be very popular. Families had brought picnics and were enjoying these whilst being entertained by Xena Flame and her acrobatic use of hoops, which the children thought was great and joined in.”
The creations have all been made by Lions who hope it will help people think about ways to encourage recycling and raise environmental awareness. The trails will be open from 11.00am to 3.00pm as follows: Monday 9th August – St Marys Wood, Monday 16thAugust – High Woods, Monday 23rd August – Gilham Woods and Tuesday 31st August Penland Wood.Pam added “One thing we cannot organise is the weather. So do keep an eye on Bexhill Lions Club Facebook page for any changes to the dates due to bad weather. To join in the fun bring your little ones dressed as fairies or elves if they wish.”
