The Bexhill Lions’ flocks of birds were recently on display at low tide in front of the DLWP and on the lawns. The aim of the event was to take promotional photographs and raise the awareness of this special opportunity to give a surprise gift to someone. It also demonstrated that Bexhill Lions are still active during this difficult time.

The “You’ve been Flamingoed”  Fund raiser  has proved to be very popular with 26 sitings which have included birthdays, special occasions and last week, a wedding.

A satisfied customer commented “Our grandson Magnus was six, and he was just amazed to find that a flock of flamingos had landed in the garden before breakfast to celebrate his birthday! It is a lovely idea because it is so unusual and delightful, even for adults”.

Rob Jones, Fundraising Chairman commented ” Since lockdown we have had to cancel or postpone our traditional events to raise funds for deserving causes.

This new initiative takes place in a COVID-19 safe environment and  brings a smile to people’s faces. It’s different, provides super photo opportunities, is great value for money and enables us to continue our help for good causes in  our community”.
