Lions in Festival spirit

Lions were out in force at the recent Vintage Swing Festival with their Covid secure displays.

The Club had organised a number of Fund raising activities. Members had produced a range of original arts and crafts including: artwork, wooden garden sculptures, footstools, coat racks, cushions, lavender bags, boats from drift wood, garnered flower seeds, and lights in bottles.

Other attractions were a very popular Dog photo booth, Ringo Flamingo and Pick a Duck games. In addition a flock of roosting flamingos promoted “You’ve been Flamingoed”, For more information about  “You’ve been Flamingoed”( follow this link ) this activity has proved to be hugely popular as a surprise for any occasion.

In support of the event, members also took on the task of setting up the car park and managing the car parking over the weekend.

The organiser, Rob Jones commented “After a long period of inactivity, it was great that this Covid-compliant event was arranged and it was good to be part of it. We met a lot of people who were interested in both our stalls and the Lions in general. It was lovely seeing so many people enjoying themselves, whilst keeping safe at the same time.”
