At the AGM of Bexhill Chamber of Commerce and Tourism (BCC&T) held at the Club on the Waterfront on 20th September 2019, the newly elected Chamber President Howard Martin announced that for the first time the Chamber would be working with a nominated charity to help deliver projects for good causes in the community.
The Charity selected was Bexhill Lions – “a perfect fit” as Howard Martin said; “The Lions are a broad sweep charity who are not afraid to get their hands dirty when it comes to helping the most needy in our community.” The objective of the team up is over the longer term to develop possible joint projects to not only raise money for the charity but to also deliver projects for the community. One of the first team ups will be a Chamber Team participating in the Lion’s Santa Dash on Sunday December 1st followed by a Christmas dinner fund raiser at the Shiplu Restaurant in London Road Bexhill on Monday 2nd December.”
Lion President Andrea Etheridge added “We are delighted to have this fantastic opportunity to work in partnership with the BCC&T. We can see great prospects for the future which will bring us together to benefit the people of Bexhill. The members of Bexhill Lions are passionate about our local community and working in collaboration with the Chamber will enable us to bring together our skills, knowledge and expertise to make an even greater difference.”
